- Meet Bill -
Bill Boland is a former police officer, having served the cities of Toronto and Oshawa for eighteen years. During the early stages of his policing career, Bill was also a professional mixed martial arts fighter compiling a record of 5 wins and 0 losses. He was awarded his black belt in Brazillian Jiu Jitsu by Prof. Justin Bruckmann in 2012. In 2017 Bill’s lifelong passion for strength and conditioning led him to barbell training. After using powerlifting basics to relieve injuries in his knees, back, and neck that had been plaguing him since his days as a fighter, Bill was hooked.
In 2019 Bill founded Iron Archetype, a personal training business focused on building strength, resilience, and independence. While he still works with professional fighters, Bill also teaches self-defense to police officers and civilians. He has also coached aspiring powerlifters, youth sports teams, and casual gym-goers who want to learn about barbell training. Many of his clients are over forty years old who want to lose weight, get strong and enjoy a long retirement.
